Watch: Justine Greening visits the University of Stirling

Rt Hon Justine Greening:

It's been a fantastic visit to the University of Stirling today, meeting senior leadership team led by Vice Chancellor Gerry McCormac.

I think what's really interesting is that for this university, the mindset is very much education with a purpose.

Part of that purpose is making sure students connect up with opportunities, but also giving them that broader sense of where they're going to fit in and contribute to a wider society.

So a great example of a university that is absolutely purpose driven, is absolutely hardwiring social mobility across everything it does, and then really using that to also shape the local and regional and broader economic growth.

Joanna Morrow:

We've been delighted to welcome Justine and the This is Purpose team to visit us today to hear from our students about the opportunities that we provide from application all the way through to graduation and employment and to show Justine our facilities and talk about the opportunities that come with our city deal and linking employers and new business development in the local area, and providing those opportunities directly to our students.

At Stirling it's all about ability not background so our focus on providing that support as part of our DNA and we've been really delighted to share that experience here today.
